Cutie Cucumbers

Welcome back y'all! Creedmoor is still treating me well. This week was awesome! We had some good lessons! It was fun to get to know more members and also to get to know my comps better! I'm loving being a missionary despite the challenges and I'm happy to be in such a good area with amazing people! Also I hit one month which is wild!


Ok so now for the cucumber story haha. At the district council we were chatting with the Elders about pranks they've pulled on each other so I guess that inspired them to pull one on us. So when we were leaving the church we noticed that they had stuck whole cucumbers in the outside of Bradley (our car) haha. They even gave him horns! The funny part is that we accidentally left them there when we drove to our lesson so we probably got some weird looks driving around haha. See the google photos for evidence.


I tried writing out what happened this week day by day but It would've turned into a novel which I know most of you don't have time for so I'll keep it short


We’re teaching some awesome friends right now and hope to put both Yuri and Colton on date for baptism this month! They have both been really busy though and will be tricky to meet with so keep them in your prayers so we can make it happen! 


This week we had good lessons with lots of people but the one that stood out to me the most was our lesson with Chris! He responded to a Facebook ad that he wanted to meet with missionaries so he was referred to us! He showed up to church without even meeting with us first which was awesome and he had a good experience! He expressed that he's always been Christian and has been searching for truth and a way to feel the spirit. We taught him the Restoration and gave him a book of Mormon, we are so happy for him and excited to teach him more! Other notable lessons this week were with Kei and with Priscilla and Vanessa. Kei is such a genuine guy who has been through a lot and it was cool to hear his testimony of The Book of Mormon in our lesson! He needs more time before he'll be ready to be baptized but I have faith that with God’s help he can do it! Priscilla and Vanessa are the cutest girls and we were able to teach them about Jesus and give them Book of Mormon’s which is awesome! Their mom however is catholic and doesn't speak English and we can't teach them without permission so we'll see what happens. 


Highlights: 


   –Creedmoor branch is awesome!


   –Prez Stevens for helping with the crazy member issue.


    –Member meals with the Dever's and the Bennington’s!


   –Got to go to the relief society dinner at Cava and Sister Peetin bought Sister Jones and I gluten free Bundt Cakes which were delicious.


   –District Council! 


   --Went finding, and found a Mexican guy who was baptized in the DR and said he would come to church. He just didn't know there was a Spanish branch here! (Said through Google translate).


   – Stopped in the boonies to try boiled peanuts (I'll give em a 5/10).


   –Ice cream trips


   –Origami with the young women!


   --Morning walks on our cute lil’ path.


Lowlights: 


  –The crazy member situation although it's hopefully resolved now.


  –All our lessons on Friday fell through.


  -- Had a lesson in the woods where they were burning a dead rabbit in the fire pit so that was interesting.


  – Celiac is bad for the Mission.


  --Not fully closing dishwasher = flooded kitchen!


Spiritual thought: 


1 Nephi 7:12


 Yea, and how is it that ye have forgotten that the Lord is able to do all things according to his will, for the children of men, if it so be that they exercise faith in him? Wherefore, let us be faithful to him.


We can do all things through Christ if we are faithful! He will always give us the means to do the things he asks us to do.

Commercial Star?!

Yes everyone, my comps and I were asked to be in a Nissan television commercial as missionaries. So I guess somebody thinks we have potential haha. Hello, acting-career!? It was actually so funny. But I'm sad I lost my only chance to be on TV. I would've said yes in another life haha. Anyways this week was definitely slower than the last two but still pretty good. We had this cool experience on Thursday when we went “finding.”  We met this really cool lady named Jennifer who invited us in and she said that us visiting her was a sign from God. We taught her and her teenage son Leon about the sacrament and they said that they would come to church! And guess what? They actually did!! I was able to read 3 Nephi 11:11 with her and give her a Book of Mormon (that was my first time initiating that and first BOM!) She was so sweet. Stump The Missionaries

Hey ya'll! Welcome back to another update on Sister Kendrick's mission adventures! This week was a crazy one but a good one! We currently have no more bed bugs since our apartment was treated on Thursday so that's a win. We also shipped Sister Kelly off to Cary to start her service mission so now we're finally to the point where we're starting to get settled in. Don't get me wrong the apartment is still a mess and half of my belongings are still quarantined in garbage bags but at least we're getting there haha.  We were able to do lots of service this week! We helped out a Methodist church that was donating clothes to the homeless. We got to personally gather the items that the individuals needed and hand out their bags to them. It was an experience that makes you so grateful for what you have. Spreading My Wings

This week + was a long one but a good one! We spent the week finding, teaching, serving, and prepping for a baptism! I also went on an exchange to Zebulon so even though the week was a little longer it honestly flew by. But anyways, now for the transfer announcement you've all been waiting for... I'll be ...LEAVING CREEDMOOR :( I'm gonna miss it so much. I love this place and the people in it! I'll also miss the bank building church because nothin is more iconic than that.  I'm also sad to leave my comp Sister Paulsen but she's excited to stay in Creedmoor and train a new missionary!  Even though I don't want to leave (and certainly don't want to pack) I do feel that it is my time to go and experience something new. I have no idea where I'll be going or who I'll be with but I know God will take care of me and it will all work out. My last week was so good because we got to do lots of service!
