Half Baked
That's right y'all I'm half baked meaning halfway done with training and 1 transfer in! Mission time really is trippy. The days are slow but the weeks fly by!
TRANSFER WEEK & MIRACLE MONDAY
The big news is …. Sister Livingston is leaving (bye dad). Ima miss her so much. I've learned a lot from her! Poor Sister Jones has to stay and finish baking me all alone haha. I'll also miss everyone else getting transferred and or going home (RIP Sister Lee and Elder Jones-God be with you ‘til we meet again). Godsplanstrict is the best!
Shoutout to:
--My amazing comp Sister Jones for being called STL!
--Elder Drake for being promoted to DL!
Our mission does transfers a little bit differently where we don't have Monday Pday that week and instead we call it Miracle Monday! On this day we're not allowed to go back to our apartment at all! We work all day to wrack up those miracles before transfers on Thursday. We receive the transfer news on Tuesday night then have Wednesday to prep or pack. We didn't have any crazy Monday miracles but we did talk to some cool people and hopefully our conversations were their little miracles of the day.
Last week had about as many ups and downs as my blood sugar (definitely been a rough diabetes week haha). It was one of those weeks that felt really busy but wasn't all that productive. Overall though it was good, because being a missionary is good. We did lots of knockin' doors and heart-attacking! We also tried sidewalk chalk and sticky note finding which was fun!
A highlight was exchanges in Zebulon round two! This time I was with Sister Reidhead and she is the sweetest. It was so fun with the exception of one particular stop by for a media referral. We ended up not even making it to the door since we were scared off by first the no trespassing sign, second the spooky junkyard vibes, and third the giant guard dog that jumped out of nowhere and started circling us. I was sure we were gonna be eaten (thankfully we survived.) The upside of the situation though was that on our way back to the car we met the cutest puppy that bounced up to us all-smiles and tail wags. I don't even like animals that much but I definitely had to give him a pet. His name was Bones, definitely a cutie. There is opposition in all things I guess, including scary vs. friendly dogs haha.
Highlights:
– Stayin' in Creedmoor!
– BLACKBERRY DR PEPPER!! Especially good with a splash of coconut cream.
– I keep finding those lucky penny's!
– Resto lesson with a cool biker dude named James.
–District council and branch council! I always learn so much from those with more experience than me. Everyone has great insights.
– Member meals with the Cobbinahs and the Peedins! The Cobbinahs made delicious Ghanan food and the Peedins took us to a Mexican restaurant with yummy tacos and horchata.
–More delicious member meals this week with the Judds and the Norris’!
Lowlights:
– Slow work week in Creedmoor with lots of finding and not enough lessons.
–Chris along with everyone else we were teaching is ghosting us.
– Diabetes and Celiac.
– Scary guard dog!
– I kept getting hung up on when trying to call people.
–Talking to old grumpy baptist ladies.
– I lost a ring and scuffed my docs.
– I'm tired.
Spiritual thought:
2 Nephi 4:30
Rejoice, O my heart, and cry unto the Lord, and say: O Lord, I will praise thee forever; yea, my soul will rejoice in thee, my God, and the rock of my salvation.
I love this scripture and how Nephi describes Jesus Christ as his rock. I know that as we build our life upon the foundation of Jesus Christ that our hearts will rejoice in Him and His goodness. I invite ya'll to set one goal for the week that will help you grow your faith and build your foundation. When you build your foundation on Jesus Christ even if you hit rock bottom you'll just reach Jesus and He can lift you up.
Love y’all, happy humpday!
(Sorry it's lame I really need to take more pics)
Peace and Love,
Sister Kendrick
