Short Week For A Short Missionary
Alyssa in your inbox again already? Yup that's right I hope you had a good last few days, I certainly did! This last half week in Creedmoor was a good one. Sister Jones and I were able to talk to some cool people and see some miracles. One of which was when we stopped by Emmanuel's house who we met a few weeks back. He’s about high school age and we had sent him to the Spanish ward in Henderson since his family is more comfortable speaking Spanish. But the church was too far of a drive for them. So the Elders lost contact with Emmanual. They asked us to stop by to see him and we did so. We were able to teach him about The Book or Mormon! He's genuinely interested in learning more and was even flipping through the pages and asking questions while we were teaching him about it! He even said he had been fasting that day for a way to get closer to God and BAM there we were with one of the most powerful tools to do so: The Book of Mormon. We hope we see him at church this Sunday and that he can share what he learned with his family!
I have a testimony that The Book of Mormon really can help us come closer to God. It truly is another testament of Jesus Christ that teaches us more about Christ's gospel and His atonement. It talks about the covenants that we can make that will bind us to Him and help us follow the path of righteousness. I know that as you read, ponder, and pray about The Book of Mormon that the spirit will testify to you of its truth.
2 Nephi 25:26
And we talk of Christ, we rejoice in Christ, we preach of Christ, we prophesy of Christ, and we write according to our prophecies, that our children may know to what source they may look for a remission of their sins.
This circles back to the missionary purpose of inviting others to come unto Christ by helping them receive the restored gospel through faith in Jesus Christ and His Atonement, repentance, baptism, receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost, and enduring to the end.
The doctrine of Christ is simple and I know that as we do these things and continue in faith we will be blessed!
Highlights:
– Getting spiritually filled at Stake Conference! We were able to attend both the Saturday and Sunday session which is a fun mix-up to the routine and the talks were amazing! We learned a lot!
– Zone service!! We were able to help the Presbyterian church with tilling, weeding, and planting their garden for refugees. It was so fun to get out of dresses and get a little dirty haha. (And to get to know the new zone better).
Lowlights:
– It's sad to see people reject Jesus Christ.
– A lot of our friends are at a standstill and need to decide if they're really willing to give up those things that they need to so they can receive the blessings of repentance and baptism.
–I have to speak in church this Sunday.
Love y’all lots!
Peace and Love,
Sister Kendrick
