"My Friend Shot The Easter Bunny!"
He is Risen! Happy Easter everyone! I hope ya'll had an amazing Holy Week and Easter Sunday! I have loved being able to have this special time to remember and celebrate Jesus Christ and His infinite Atonement. I love how the church is emphasizing Easter as a season rather than just a holiday since no holiday compares in significance to the true meaning of Easter. Because of the resurrection of Jesus Christ we all have the opportunity to be resurrected and live in perfected bodies for eternity. And through our discipleship we are saved and exalted through Jesus Christ’s infinite Atonement and can experience the hope and healing that comes only through Him.
John 6:33
These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
This week was a good one with lots of missionary work being done! We had lessons with Pam, Ronny, Mary, Christina, John, and Anna! Pam is still praying about baptism which is awesome! Ronny is a media referral who requested a Book of Mormon. We brought one to him and he's loved what he's read so far. We've already had a couple lessons with him! We have some cool friends that I'm excited about. Creedmoor has been popping off again this week which is awesome!
We were also able to spend some time with several of our members this Holy Week. Shoutout to the McIntoshs, Charlie, the McGannons, the Baldwins, and the Labrums! We were spoiled to say the least haha. We had a good Easter indeed.
Another cool thing that happened this week was that we got to set up and attend the Rodebaugh's Annual Pig Pickin and experience a true North Carolina BBQ. This is where they literally cook a whole pig on the grill and have a massive potluck BBQ party to eat it up. Vinegar sauce base, hush puppies, coleslaw, potatoes, and all. It was very yummy and a good chance to spend time with members and friends.
At the pig pickin good old Brother Dever told us very seriously that he was sad because his friend shot the Easter Bunny. We were like, “oh really haha?” Then he said, ”Yep. Then they ate it!” (referring to the pig we BBQed) It was kinda funny lol.
Highlights:

A Jehovah's Witness pamphlet that when they knock doors and see them, they take them and replace them with ours. She and her dad laughed about that. He remembers doing that on his mission too. I was more like, 'That might be stealing, don't get into trouble."
