Talkin' And Coughin'

And my new companion is...

Sister Paulsen! She's the best! I'm so excited for what this transfer holds! Sister Paulsen and I are actually in the same stake back home and we graduated from the same high school. We just never really knew each other. A cool story is that I found out she was in the North Carolina Raleigh Mission by meeting her grandma at the temple when I was there to take my mission photos! She recognized the flag and said that her granddaughter, Jane Paulsen, was serving there! Well I've found her and now we're companions so that's pretty cool!

The rest of this week I was sick for the second time in two weeks. I had a fever for two days and a horrible cough that's still hanging on. I've been physically exhausted even though I took a day off and my voice sounds terrible. So this week was a grind but we made it through. And even though I was not feeling my best, we were able to talk to a lot of people and stop by some media referrals that we otherwise haven't gotten in contact with! I can tell that the Lord has magnified my meager efforts these past few days.

Highlights:

   --Awesome lesson with Pam!

--Yuri and Hector made it to church!

   --Din din with the Despains!

   --Fast and Testimony Meeting!

Lowlights:

    --Being Sick.

    --Now the oven is broken.

--Sister Jones left me for Goldsboro. It's sad for me but I know they'll love having her, she's an awesome missionary!

Spiritual Thought:

The story for this day of the Holy week is when Jesus Christ cleared the temple by flipping over the tables of the money changers to once again restore the holiness of the temple as a place for disciples to commune with God.

The Gospel Library says: "We learn two important lessons from this event. First, we show love for God by honoring sacred spaces—this includes our hearts, our minds, and our homes—and striving to keep them clean from sin and corruption. Second, God wants to heal us and help us become true disciples of Christ, especially when we are weighed down by burdens as imperfect people living in an imperfect world."

We are then extended the invitation to think about something that we can do this week to prepare to receive the Savior’s compassion or healing. We are invited "to become clean and whole as we seek Him, ask for forgiveness, and repent." I like to think of this process of clearing our hearts and minds of sin and striving to repent and become better as the "refiners fire". I know that through Jesus Christ and His Atonement we are able to become refined and made perfect through Christ's infinite grace and exalting power.

Love y'all have a great week!

Peace and Love,

Sister Kendrick
