IT’S A DATE!!!

Hey ya’ll! I hope it's been a good one! This week has been the best yet here in Creedmoor North Carolina! We have someone “on date!” Our friend Christina is going to be baptized on May 31st and we are so excited to help her get there and to have been a part of her journey! She is a member-referral from 3 years ago. Can you believe it? Her 3 sons were baptized at that time but she hadn’t been able to due to a complicated relationship situation she's in.  But we counseled with our mission President about it and he said she can be baptized!!! It was well worth the ask! We are beyond excited for her! We also had the member who referred Christina to the missionaries there at the lesson (Charlie) when we put her “on date.” It was so precious!! We’re still trying to get a few things ironed out with people in the branch since they have some concerns with the decision. But we have faith that with the help of the Lord everything will work out. Prayers for Christina and her family would be appreciated!

This week we also had a lesson with our Pakistani friend Ahtsham! He basically teaches himself from the chapter we have him read haha. He also shared with us that he was able to help his community get some young children enrolled in school instead of ending up in a brick factory so yay Ahtsham! God is good! He also told me I sound like I'm 14 or 15 so that was funny. Then he called on me to pray so he could listen to me talk again.

We talked to Kei again! He's kinda just been confused with where he stands about church and baptism and is just waiting for God to direct his path. We talked to him about having faith to move forward even if you don't understand everything yet. (He still has a solid testimony of The Book of Mormon.) He's working on listening to the spirit and having discernment which is so good. I think he'll come around eventually, we're not gonna give up yet. He also has a new phrase he says in response to everything we say: “Poetic and Prophetic.” He's definitely a rapper at heart and a big words guy haha.

Highlights:

  –Christina “on date!”

–Interviews with Pres. and Sister Stevens!

–Housing inspections with the Jesters! (who brought us empanadas)Yum

  –Falls Lake Blitz!

–Yummy dinners with the Popes, McDonalds, Rodebaughs, and Baldwins!

   –Caffeine

   –Gym

Lowlights:

–When it rains it pours and then it thunderstorms!

–None of our new friends came to church.

–Working with other people is hard sometimes.

–So much drama in every aspect of the mish.

–Idk what transfers will look like yet but I don't wanna leave Creedmoor.

Also whenever any companionship in our zone talks about baptism we drop a whale emoji in the group chat so if I use it that's why!

Spiritual Thought:

Alma 7:14-15

Now I say unto you that ye must repent, and be born again; for the Spirit saith if ye are not born again ye cannot inherit the kingdom of heaven; therefore come and be baptized unto repentance, that ye may be washed from your sins, that ye may have faith on the Lamb of God, who taketh away the sins of the world, who is mighty to save and to cleanse from all unrighteousness.

Yea, I say unto you come and fear not, and lay aside every sin, which easily doth beset you, which doth bind you down to destruction, yea, come and go forth, and show unto your God that ye are willing to repent of your sins and enter into a covenant with him to keep his commandments, and witness it unto him this day by going into the waters of baptism.

These verses speak for themselves! The opportunity to enter into a covenant relationship with God and be baptized into the church of Jesus Christ through a remission of our sins is such a blessing! I know that my baptism and confirmation have blessed my life more than I can even imagine! If I could invite the whole world to be baptized I would, but since that's impossible I'll stick to one soul atta time!

Love ya'll! Have a fabulous week!  Also my next Pday is Wednesday because of transfers so don't miss me too much on Monday

Peace and Love,

Sister Kendrick
