Midsummer Marigolds️

Hey everyone! Do you wanna hear something crazy?? I've been a missionary for 6 months now! I'm 1/3 of the way through my mission!! Some days go by slower than others but overall it's gone by so fast, I can't believe it! I'm so grateful for the time that I've been able to serve despite the many challenges. I've learned so much about the restored gospel of Jesus Christ and also about God's love for all of His children. I'm excited to see what else the Lord has in store for me to learn in this next year of missionary work!  I actually had a chance to really reflect on my missionary work this Sunday. We were asked to be on a panel along with other current and recently returned missionaries to answer the youths' questions about missionary work! It was very cool to be able to share my mission experiences and insights with them. We were able to do this for both Hillsborough and Mebane ward as well as having a part in the adult 5th Sunday class so it was...

Hey everyone! Happy Monday! I'm probably having a better day than most of you because outside of a mission Mondays kinda suck. But as a missionary Monday is “da best” day! Last Monday we went to the mall to hang out and do some shopping and today we're planning to chill at the Stake Center. It's nice to have a fun day off to compensate for all the long and hot ones!  This week was a pretty good one! We had amazing dinners + a spiritual thought with our members this week which I'm always grateful for! We also had amazing lessons with our friends:  Diana-  She's married to a member named Neil and they're one of the families we play volleyball with every Thursday! We taught her about the Restoration and it went so well. She even got emotional. She is just the sweetest. Lawrence- He is cool! He is also not currently a believer in God or Jesus Christ but is open to the idea. So far I've never really taught someone who isn't a Christian so this will be a new e...

Temple Trippin'

Hey friends and family! Happy Father's day to all you dads and Chads out there! You are so loved! I'm so grateful for my dad and his amazing Christlike example. He is the most humble person I know and If someone needs service he's already on it. I love you lots Dad!  I hope ya'll have had an amazing week! Mine was good and crazy as ever! Lots of memories were made that's for sure! Let's jump right in:  For Pday on Monday we went to Top Golf and I won! I have no idea how that happened but I'll take it. I'm way better at golfing than at bowling I guess. On Tuesday we had service again at OpenTable (clothing the homeless) which is always a good experience to help out at! Then we went to the temple to do Baptisms with our new member Dwight! We are so happy for him and he said that it was a great experience and he wants to go back soon!  On Wednesday evening we went to stop by a member and it was so funny! She let us read her and her late husband's testim...

Stump The Missionaries

Hey ya'll! Welcome back to another update on Sister Kendrick's mission adventures! This week was a crazy one but a good one! We currently have no more bed bugs since our apartment was treated on Thursday so that's a win. We also shipped Sister Kelly off to Cary to start her service mission so now we're finally to the point where we're starting to get settled in. Don't get me wrong the apartment is still a mess and half of my belongings are still quarantined in garbage bags but at least we're getting there haha.  We were able to do lots of service this week! We helped out a Methodist church that was donating clothes to the homeless. We got to personally gather the items that the individuals needed and hand out their bags to them. It was an experience that makes you so grateful for what you have. Then we went to our member-friend Lee's house to help him out in his shop where he had us sorting nails (which was really just an excuse to talk). He told us his ...

Don't Let The Bed Bugs Bite - Oh Wait...They Already Did

Hey friends and fam! Well it happened...I got transferred! It was no fun moving all my crap but, somehow we did it haha. I am now in a town called Hillsborough in the Durham zone! Durham is known as the sketchy city in the mission but don't freak out too much mom... Hillsborough is on the outskirts just a little bit west of Creedmoor so I'm more concerned about the coyotes than the people haha.  My new comps are Sister Marchant and Sister Kelly! We've been through a lot together this week so I feel like we're already super tight haha. I love them lots!  Sister Kelly was already in Hillsborough and Sister Marchant is coming from the area next door which is kinda funny (same district and church building but diff. ward.) Sister Kelly however, is only going to be with us for a little while because she'll be going to Cary with another Sister to do a service mission at the temple. (lots of drama and confusion involved) I'll miss her but I'm excited for her as well...

Ward Letter

Hey Millville 3rd ward! Happy Sabbath! I just want ya'll to know that I am so grateful for the amazing Christlike examples you all are and how growing up in this ward influenced me to become a better disciple of Jesus Christ! Keep it up! I am currently serving in the North Carolina Raleigh mission in a city called Creedmoor! It's a small town in the boonies and I absolutely love it! The congregation here is a branch and we meet every Sunday in an old bank building that was converted into a church! Everyone in Creedmoor is such a character and so am I, so it works out great haha. I really enjoy the opportunity to serve the Lord by serving His children every single day. I get to meet and talk with many amazing people and hear their testimonies of their Savior.  Missionary work can be exhausting but it is also so rewarding to see people come unto Christ. Sometimes our effort reaps great rewards and other times it doesn't, which can be discouraging, but I know that I'm doin...
