Temple Trippin'
Hey friends and family! Happy Father's day to all you dads and Chads out there! You are so loved! I'm so grateful for my dad and his amazing Christlike example. He is the most humble person I know and If someone needs service he's already on it. I love you lots Dad!
I hope ya'll have had an amazing week! Mine was good and crazy as ever! Lots of memories were made that's for sure! Let's jump right in:
For Pday on Monday we went to Top Golf and I won! I have no idea how that happened but I'll take it. I'm way better at golfing than at bowling I guess. On Tuesday we had service again at OpenTable (clothing the homeless) which is always a good experience to help out at! Then we went to the temple to do Baptisms with our new member Dwight! We are so happy for him and he said that it was a great experience and he wants to go back soon!
On Wednesday evening we went to stop by a member and it was so funny! She let us read her and her late husband's testimonies that they had written when they converted to the church which was so cool! Our ward mission leader went with us and was able to talk about his reconversion story as well which was also cool! Then she proceeded to tell us all of her medical issues including her hard and bloody stool. (Us missionaries may be good listeners but we don't need to hear everything lol.) She came to church though so that's a W. (Even though it made us late since we went over to help her get ready.)
Thursday was Zone Conference! It's always so fun to get together with other missionaries and get motivated again. It's also a good time to be spiritually filled and get to hear from Prez and Sister Stevens and the amazing missionaries in the NCRM!
Friday was the mission temple trip and interviews! It was so special to get to go to the temple twice in one week! The spirit in the temple truly can't be found anywhere else. The grounds are looking beautiful for summer as well! Interviews are always so intimidating to me but I didn't get chastised too much haha (It's all done in love.) And Sister Stevens is just the cutest!
Saturday was food ministry service at LifePoint + exchanges with Sister Evans! (I love her!) It was a lot of fun excluding the time when I got an aggressive driving citation from Tiwi for hydroplaning in the torrential rain and then getting stuck on the freeway because the brakes had safety locked. I had also typed in the wrong address so we ended up not in our area. That was an adventure!
After I got my comp back on Saturday we were able to do some stop bys and we visited a sweet member named Mariah! We caught her at a perfect time because she was getting ready to have her baby the next day so we were able to give her a spiritual message, pray with her, and give her a WWJD bracelet. She is such a sweetheart and appreciated us coming by. And then Sunday was cool (and a tad bit stressful) as always!
Other news: This transfer has honestly been a tough one for me! Whitewashing an area is difficult enough in general but in addition to that I feel like we're dealing with something going wrong every single day, it's been exhausting! I still don't feel like I've been able to settle in, and guess what?? Now our building has cockroaches! Please, someone come kidnap me and take me back to Utah.
Highlights:
–Two temple trips
–Zone conference
–Interviews
–Member meals with the Ogdens, Kellys, Kirbys, Oversons, Tengelsons, Barlows, and Stewards. (We are literally so spoiled!)
Lowlights:
–COCKROACHES!!
Spiritual thought:
John 1
6 There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.
7 The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe.
8 He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.
9 That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.
I love this bible scripture and how it talks about Christ being the true light of the world! These verses are referring to John the Baptist and how he was sent to prepare the way for Jesus Christ! As His disciples we each have a responsibility to prepare the world for the second coming of our Savior! We can put our name in place of John's and it applies to us just the same! We must bear witness of that Light which is Jesus Christ.
Peace and Love
