Spreading My Wings

Image
This week + was a long one but a good one! We spent the week finding, teaching, serving, and prepping for a baptism! I also went on an exchange to Zebulon so even though the week was a little longer it honestly flew by. But anyways, now for the transfer announcement you've all been waiting for... I'll be ...LEAVING CREEDMOOR :( I'm gonna miss it so much. I love this place and the people in it! I'll also miss the bank building church because nothin is more iconic than that.  I'm also sad to leave my comp Sister Paulsen but she's excited to stay in Creedmoor and train a new missionary!  Even though I don't want to leave (and certainly don't want to pack) I do feel that it is my time to go and experience something new. I have no idea where I'll be going or who I'll be with but I know God will take care of me and it will all work out. My last week was so good because we got to do lots of service! In Zebulon I was able to go with Sister Cutler and the...

IT’S A DATE!!!

Image
Hey ya’ll! I hope it's been a good one! This week has been the best yet here in Creedmoor North Carolina! We have someone “on date!” Our friend Christina is going to be baptized on May 31st and we are so excited to help her get there and to have been a part of her journey! She is a member-referral from 3 years ago. Can you believe it? Her 3 sons were baptized at that time but she hadn’t been able to due to a complicated relationship situation she's in.  But we counseled with our mission President about it and he said she can be baptized!!! It was well worth the ask! We are beyond excited for her! We also had the member who referred Christina to the missionaries there at the lesson (Charlie) when we put her “on date.” It was so precious!! We’re still trying to get a few things ironed out with people in the branch since they have some concerns with the decision. But we have faith that with the help of the Lord everything will work out. Prayers for Christina and her family would b...

"SWIM MOSES SWIM!"

Happy Mother’s Day to all the sweet ladies in my life! I love ya’ll so much and hope you had a beautiful day of being celebrated! Here are your virtual flowers :)  I miss my mom so much and am so grateful for her support and the wonderful example of Christlike love she has set for me! This week was a good one! Not super eventful but we did meet some cool new friends! Namely Linda and Garry who we met on Saturday knocking doors. We talked to them for a LONG time. They are the cutest. We also ended up stopping by Kei’s as well and had a lesson with him! He's also a talker so between that and Linda and Garry the day went by fast haha.  We also had exchanges again! So back to Falls Lake I went.  I might as well just leave an overnight bag there haha. It was another good day though! We called up a media referral that they got and ended up setting up a time to give her a church tour later that night! (My second time giving a tour of the Stake Center haha). Her name is Rochelle ...

May The 4ce Of The Spirit Be With You

Image
Hello friends and fam! This week was a good one and it flew by! Just casually but diligently doing the work of the Lord. This week we had awesome lessons with Christina, Pam, and Lily! We were able to teach Pam about how to recognize the spirit which was so so good! We also stopped by and had casual lessons with some of our other friends! Unfortunately Tommy has shingles so we weren't able to teach him and may not be able to for a while. Overall this was a pretty chill week out here in Creedmoor.  EXCHANGE TO FALLS LAKE! That’s right, haha, round 3 exchange to Falls Lake. It was so good this time though. I got to hang with Sister Zameripa! We gave a church tour to this ex search and rescue worker who had all these wild government facts (conspiracies, but he believed them, haha). He also said that “they” didn't want him in any other church besides the LDS church.  So he wanted to learn more about our faith haha. I guess the government is right about one thing cause we're a p...

Firm Foundation

Welcome to a new week! You’re welcome for being the highlight of your Monday. I know I am, JK. But I'm glad you're here and I have a lot to say so we'll jump right in! (actually read my spiritual thought btw this one's good) We had a zone conference with Elder Corbett! He really emphasized goal setting. It was an ok meeting (however it was definitely long and sleep inducing.) Sister Steven’s however, gave us an incredible message. She talked about her granddaughter and made us all cry. So that was an incredible thing to witness. The spirit was SO strong, I just love the Steven's so much! We had a really good lesson with our friend named Al! He has a lot of religious knowledge and is just a cool guy. We taught him about the sacrament and he thinks it's so cool that we get to partake of it every week. We met the cutest 92 year old named Lily Mae and prayed with her and taught her about The Book of Mormon. Then her daughter and her daughters' husband (Kimberly ...

"My Friend Shot The Easter Bunny!"

Image
He is Risen! Happy Easter everyone! I hope ya'll had an amazing Holy Week and Easter Sunday! I have loved being able to have this special time to remember and celebrate Jesus Christ and His infinite Atonement. I love how the church is emphasizing Easter as a season rather than just a holiday since no holiday compares in significance to the true meaning of Easter. Because of the resurrection of Jesus Christ we all have the opportunity to be resurrected and live in perfected bodies for eternity. And through our discipleship we are saved and exalted through Jesus Christ’s infinite Atonement and can experience the hope and healing that comes only through Him.  John 6:33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. This week was a good one with lots of missionary work being done! We had lessons with Pam, Ronny, Mary, Christina, John, and Anna! Pam is still praying about bapti...

Talkin' And Coughin'

Image
And my new companion is...  Sister Paulsen! She's the best! I'm so excited for what this transfer holds! Sister Paulsen and I are actually in the same stake back home and we graduated from the same high school. We just never really knew each other. A cool story is that I found out she was in the North Carolina Raleigh Mission by meeting her grandma at the temple when I was there to take my mission photos! She recognized the flag and said that her granddaughter, Jane Paulsen, was serving there! Well I've found her and now we're companions so that's pretty cool!  The rest of this week I was sick for the second time in two weeks. I had a fever for two days and a horrible cough that's still hanging on. I've been physically exhausted even though I took a day off and my voice sounds terrible. So this week was a grind but we made it through. And even though I was not feeling my best, we were able to talk to a lot of people and stop by some media referrals that we o...
